Smithsonian Latino Center’s Museum Studies Program Fellow Carlos Francisco Parra recently completed research at the National Museum of American History (NMAH).
This program helped Carlos pursue his studies by giving him access to material objects and archival sources related to Spanish-language broadcasting, and the opportunity to explore the “Spanish-Language Broadcasting collection” at NMAH. During the summer, he worked specifically with this collection writing finding aids for items in the collection and transcribing oral history interviews.
Carlos wrote about these experiences on the Smithsonian Latino Center blog.
