SI and AADAPT Recruiting Presence at SCCS 2017
Each year, the American Museum of Natural History in New York, NY hosts the Student Conference on Conservation Science which is an international event aimed at students, postdocs, and early-career scientists, representing 31 countries and 40 U.S. states, taking part in the only international series of conservation conferences featuring students. Through this event, emerging conservation scientists are provided with opportunities to present and get feedback on their work, gain experience and make contacts to help them launch their careers. Participants are offered in-depth, interactive workshops on a variety of conservation topics, ‘behind the scenes’ museum collection tours and a Resource and Career Fair with 23 representatives from NGOs, government agencies, and universities throughout the country. This year, the event took place on Wednesday 10/11/2017 – Sean Butler and Lily Mellor from the Office of Human Resources were in attendance, alongside the Smithsonian Conservation Biological Institute (SCBI) and the SCBI – George Mason University Program.
