The City Bird and the Country Bird
National Zoological Park (NZP) Post-Doctoral Fellow Dr. Dana Moseley recently teamed up with the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center to research how bird behaviors, such as mate song and mate choice, differ among catbirds in urban and rural areas. Moseley and her team have been tracking gray catbirds’ mating patterns and recording their songs so that they can compare them by location.
Her work was recently featured on the National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute blog.
