University of California, Berkeley (UCB) PhD candidate Janet Torres is currently doing a fellowship through the Smithsonian Minority Awards Program. Her interests include researching climate change adaptation, multi-level governance, and sustainable development. Research on such topics requires interdisciplinary methods within a relevant historical context that integrate physical geography, policy analysis, and ethnography. An article about her work with researchers as a Smithsonian fellow was recently written by the UCB Department of Environmental Design, which you read about here!
