An Out of this World Internship at NASM
Anne Ladyem McDivitt is a University of Florida masters graduate from Dyer County, TN. Anne, who has spent the past year as an American history teaching assistant at George Mason University, is fulfilling one of her life-long dreams of interning at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum (NASM).
Anne’s decision to apply for the internship stems from a passion for history that was fostered throughout her childhood by her family. Aligning with the Smithsonian Institution’s mission to increase and diffuse knowledge, Anne believes that history is a topic that should be “accessible to all people.” The National Air and Space Museum, with over 7.5 million visitors in 2016, has a great capacity to share space history with a diverse audience. She will be working in the curatorial department on the Space Race exhibit as well as the ‘Reboot the Suit‘ project to conserve Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 spacesuit.
