logo_subFor the fourth consecutive year SI Academic Appointment Diversity and Public Taskforce (AADAPT) had a pan-institutional presence at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) annual conference. This year was special as it marked HACU’s 30th anniversary and the conference was held at HACU’s headquarters in San Antonio, Texas between Saturday 10/8/16 and Monday 10/10/16.

Smithsonian Institution (SI) staff who attended this conference included Karen Carter (OFI), Geri-Provost Lyons (NPG), Omar Eaton-Martinez (NMAH), Emily Key (SLC) and Sean Butler (OHR).  The team set up an exhibit hall booth with lots of information on internships, fellowships, careers, and events at SI. The group also presented at Student Track, a three day career development and networking conference designed to build the career skills of undergraduate students. The teams presentation was entitled, “How to Develop Your Professional Networks While Still in School,” which they delivered to another record breaking crowd (over 120 undergraduate and graduate students).
