Christine Miranda is an intern with the National Museum of American History’s Program in Latino History and Culture. She recently wrote about NMAH’s items from Latina signer Selena¬†on the NMAH blog. To those who aren’t familiar with Selena, she was an extremely influential Mexican singer-songwriter, who was murder in her prime. Tom Brokaw called her “the Mexican Madonna.” Selena was a fashion, music, and cultural icon. Christine wrote about the impact of Selena on her life, and what Selena means to the Latino community today. You can read more here.
