Going Back in History at NMAH

Posted on August 8, 2014 by in The OFI Blog

On Wednesday 8/6/14, this summer’s Student Theatre Project pilot program “The Once and Future Museum” debuted and the National Museum of American History (NMAH). Three Theatre Arts students, Arthur Newbould (Boston College), Katie Rosenberg (Georgetown University) and Meghan Bernstein (George Washington University), were tasked with researching, conceptualizing, writing, developing, directing, and performing a short piece at NMAH. Arthur, Katie and Meghan each performed as a character from a different decade, 1964, 1984 and 2014. This performance celebrated the Museum’s 50th anniversary and explored how the museum has grown from the Museum of History and Technology and the advancements in American History.

Performances will be 8/8, 8/9, 8/13-8/16 at 12, 2, or 3:30 outside the south entrance of the Albert H. Small Documents Gallery.
