S.I. Hosts Career Center Conference

Posted on December 12, 2013 by in AADAPT, The OFI Blog

CCC1On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, NMAH and OFI co-sponsored the second annual Career Center Conference.  Over 150 attendees came from across the U.S. (as far away as California, Texas and even Puerto Rico!) to learn more about internship, fellowship and even career opportunities at the Smithsonian.  The day-long event, held mainly in American History’s Warner Brothers Theater, offered panel discussions on perspectives ranging from current interns and fellows to SI employees who were previously interns and fellows, to curators, to increasing diversity in the Smithsonian.  In addition to the presentations, there was plenty of time for informal discussion throughout the day in order to increase networking and collaboration opportunities.  A special thanks to Scott Miller and Eric Woodard for the opening remarks and closing remarks, all the SI panel participants, and to units who generously donated gifts for the closing reception raffle!  We look forward to continuing the tradition with next year’s conference!
