On Thursday June 5, 2014 several hundred Smithsonian interns took part in the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) 2014 “Morning at the Museum.” Those who participated had an opportunity to explore exhibits and speak with different scientists about various areas of research at the museum.

Smithsonian Secretary Wayne Clough dropped by to offer an official Smithsonian welcome. The Secretary pointed out to this year’s interns that during their internship, they not only have an opportunity to learn new things for themselves, but also an opportunity to excite the learning in others visiting the Smithsonian.

This summer the Smithsonian will host approximately 800 interns from across the U.S. and around the world.
